Controls with more than 1000 records

Hi @emil.zywina,

Yes, there are a few ways to handle filtering out NULL values when you’re hitting the 1000-record limit.

The quickest fix is to configure the “Null Options” setting directly in the filter, go to the Filter menu, select Edit, choose “Custom filter list” as the filter type, and under the Null Options section select “Exclude nulls.” This removes NULLs from the data regardless of how many items are in the control.

If you need more control, you can try using a hidden cascading filter workaround. Create a first filter (Filter A) that manually excludes NULL and empty strings, then create a second filter (Filter B) linked to your visible dashboard control and configure it to show only relevant values based on Filter A. In a free-form layout, you can position Filter A behind another visual so users only interact with the clean Filter B dropdown.
