How to handle this special characters are showing in the address ?
![]()
Actually, This is storing as a html into my DB. And might be my DB has stored it as a special character only.
Can anyone guide?
Thanks

Hi @darshana.s,
Nice seeing you back in the Quick Community! That is definitely some interesting behavior. I would definitely recommend ensuring your DB follows UTF-8 encoding, as that is what Quick follows. I would write a SQL query (based on your DB) to obtain what the encoding is, and if it is in a different format other than UTF-8, I believe that is why this issue is occurring. To workaround this, I would write a query like this:
ALTER DATABASE database_name CHARACTER SET utf8mb4 COLLATE utf8mb4_unicode_ci;
Please let me know if this helps!
Thanks Luis,
If I change character set for my DB table, What will happen with my existing data?
Thanks
Hi @darshana.s,
Apologies for the delay in response. Changing character set in that manner should only apply for new tables, but I would definitely back up existing data by creating a quick dump in case. This will ensure that nothing happens with your existing data.
Hope this helps!
