I am writing this post because of the following issue I encountered on Quick Sight.
I need to compute frequency values for the number of speakers which are presenting topics in a Conference.
The issue is implemented in this dashboard: Events and Frequency
Here the details:
Data as it is:
On 4 different days (May 15 to May 18) in our company there have been several meeting events, and for each event there have been different speakers.
What we are trying to achieve:
- Compute the total duration of all meetings, which should change only if filtered by date
- Compute statistics on the event speakers (ex: frequency of speakers whose age is >= 30)
What we managed to achieve:
- Create a field storing the total duration of all events (Total_duration_h, in linked dashboard) which changes only if filtered by date.
Issue:
If we apply a filtering condition on the speakers age which is removing all the events from a single day, we see the Total_duration_h changing.
I have already discussed this issue with the community in the past and apparently there is not direct solution for it: the only possibility is to add dummy data to my dataset to avoid filters from removing entire days. As you can imagine this solution is not straightforward and makes it very cumbersome and risky to add filter conditions.
For this reason I would like to ask if it is possible to create a feature request enabling this.
