Get access of analysis from a deactivate user?

Do we have a way to get analysis access that was created by user who left the company(inactive user)? I only have access to the dashboard, nor analysis or datasets. Does Quicksight have the master access over all existing analysis/datasets?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @ChenjingLyu

Welcome back to the Quick community!

Amazon Quick Suite supports transferring assets when a user leaves the organization. Any assets the departed user owned can be reassigned to another user, there are two ways to do this.

  1. Transfer via the console (easiest, recommended): An account admin can transfer the orphaned assets directly from the asset manager: Profile icon -> Manage Quick -> Manage assets -> search/select the assets -> Transfer to the new owner. This works for analyses, dashboards, datasets, data sources, shared folders, and agents. Amazon Quick asset management - Amazon Quick

  2. Transfer via the AWS CLI or API: If you prefer the command line, this official AWS Knowledge Center article walks through listing the orphaned resources and reassigning ownership to another user. Access orphaned resources of a deleted user in Quick Sight | AWS re:Post

Note: Quick Suite doesn’t grant an admin automatic master ownership of every existing analysis or dataset access is set per resource. But an admin can list all resources in the account and reassign ownership using either method above, which fully restores access.
