I have a KPI card in which the data is currently split into 2026 data and 2025 data. However, my client wants to see the original consolidated data instead of it being separated by year(2025+2026 combined). I would like to display the combined data in a single KPI. Could you please help me build this type of KPI?
Please refer to the screenshots below showing the consolidated data as well as the 2025 & 2026 split versions and KPI card.
Is year and csta_percentage the only fields available? Are there other fields that may be relevant? To do this, you would have to create a calculated field. Based on the information in your screenshot, you can create a calculated field that calculates the simple average between the two years:
(74.407+72.941)/2 = 73.674
It doesn’t give you exactly 74.222 but it’s one way to combine 2025 and 2026.
Hi Jacob, thank you for connecting and for the great answer.
Could you please let me know how to identify year‑wise data in Quick sight? For example,
(if year = 2025, value, null) how can I return only the value for that year?
If there is any other recommended way to extract or filter yearly data, please let me know.
If I am understanding your question correctly, you can create a calculated field utilizing the sumIf() function. So as an example, a sumIf() function can look like this:
sumIf(sales, year = ‘2025’)
In this example, the output would be to show all sales that occurred within the year 2025. It does not have to be sales. The expression can be any field that would want to isolate and the ‘year = ‘2025’’ is defined as the ‘if_expression’ or how you want your expression to be filtered by.
