Possibility in Quicksight

Hi I am storing the Temp sensor data with below columns

SensorID | Timestamp | SequenceID | TempValue

Is the below validations are possible in the quicksight. Highlighting the row is required instead of any count values. The data highlighting will be based on filter controls applied for SensorID and Timestamp

  1. Duplicate events received with same timestamp and same SequenceID
  2. Data loss events occurred based on the SequenceID missing which is expected to be continuous
  3. More % variation observed in temperature which usually varies within 0.01 deg w.r.t to previous packet. Need to identify if the variation is more than 0.1 degree
  1. Aggregate the max of the rank with Timestamp and SequenceID partitions. Use in conditional formatting logic

NumberOfInstances = maxOver(denseRankCalc, [{Timestamp}, {SequenceID}], PRE_AGG)
denseRankCalc = denseRank([TempValue DESC], [{Timestamp}, {SequenceID}], PRE_AGG)

Check if the NumberOfInstances function returns a value greater than 1, if so highlight that row.

  1. ifelse statement using isNULL, and return 1 or 0 then use conditional formatting based on the result
    FindLossEvents = ifelse(isNull(SequenceId), 1, 0)

Then highlight the row if the value is equal to 1.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or if the above works for your case.

Hi Brett,

Thanks for your info.

with the info u have provided for NumberOfInstances & FindLossEvents will provide required data only if only one sensor data is available but in our dataset we have multiple SensorID information so its always denoting as NumberOfInstances =1 & FindLossEvents = 0

Same applies for the percentage difference as well

Hi @srinivasan_ab,
So does each instance have a different SensorID as well? Do you just wish to ignore the Sensor ID in your filtering/highlighting?

This may be easier to assist if you are able to upload a sample copy of your analysis in Quick Sight Arena so that I can see how you envision the end product to look.

If not, could you please include a screenshot of your visual along so that I can see how Sensor ID may be affecting the outcome.

uploaded the sample data in arena as mentioned. please check

Hi @srinivasan_ab,
You’ll have to share the Quick Sight Arena analysis with me before I’m able to access it. Once you’ve enabled it to be shared, please send the link it provides.

Hi @srinivasan_ab,
Following up here as it’s been awhile since we last heard from you. If you are still in need of further assistance, please make sure to share the link for the Arena view you created.

If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.

Thank you!
