Select All Control Option not filtering results

When utilizing a filter as a top sheet control (Dropdown - multiselect), the default is all values. When a user starts typing in the search bar and clicks “select all results”, it does not filter to only the results showing. If a user then unselects select all results, only those results are removed from the original default list of “All”.

Instead a user would have to come in, deselect “select all” then search and click “select all results” for only the subset to be selected. Is there a workaround for this, so a user searches and only the selected results appear in the filter?

Hi @mroo11 ,

Just so I understand, you are indicating that the ‘Select All’ does not select only the results of the search. From what I tried, Quick Sight filters only the results of the search once you choose ‘Select All’. Also I do not see all data when I un-select the “Select All”.

Can you please share the screenshot as well as tell me how many unique values you have in the drop down control.

@Vaidy

Can try to anonymize the data, but includes roughly 30 distinct territories (string values) as a filter control. When a user comes into the dashboard, all 30 are selected and the “select all” is chosen. When the control is opened and a user starts typing into the search bar, persay user types “A” all values would appear. User then can choose select all results, but when doing so, it does not filter down to only the A values, yet still aggregates at all 30 territory level.

@Vaidy is there any additional support that can be given for this item?

Hi @mroo11 , I see what you meant. For now there is no direct way to make this happen and I will check if there is a feature request for the same. There is a similar thread to what you have posted along with a workaround. Can you please check and let me know.

Hi @mroo11,

Just checking back in since this thread hasn’t received a response in a while. Was Vaidy’s post that linked a potential workaround helpful to you and/or were you able to find a solution yourself in the meantime? Please help the community by marking this answer as “Solution” or following up in general within the next 3 business days!

Thanks!
