Conversation history not syncing after device replacement

My laptop recently crashed and after setting up a new one with Amazon Quick Desktop, my entire conversation history is not syncing despite signing in with the same enterprise account. I’ve tried signing out/in, reinstalling, and confirming I’m on the latest version but nothing has restored my previous sessions. These conversations contained critical work product, including analysis and deliverables, that I need to recover. I’d appreciate help confirming whether my data is still stored on the backend and forcing a re-sync to my new device. If this requires escalation to the engineering team, please route accordingly.

Hi @shafidi and welcome to the community!

As per my understanding, quick desktop stores conversation history locally on your machine, and that data does not sync to a cloud backend. So when you sign in on a new device with the same enterprise account, there isn’t a server-side copy to pull down, which is why nothing appears despite being on the same account. The good news is that your data likely still exists on the old laptop’s drive. A community member shared detailed recovery steps in a similar thread here: I lost all my chats, context, etc after software update. From my reading of that thread those steps involve copying your profile folder from the old machine, so if your IT team can recover files from the crashed laptop’s drive (or if you have a backup), that’s the path to getting your history back.

Hope this helps!

Not true. Not tied to your account.
Best to copy it over.
