Disabling visual customization

Continuing the discussion from Empower readers with customizable tables and pivot tables in Amazon Quick Sight: I asked a question in the reply, but posting it again here for more visibility. Is the only way to disable this for readers manually going through each visual 1 by 1? Is there a custom permission that can be set to otherwise prevent readers from being able to do the custom visualization on dashboard visuals?

Hi @ineedqshelp ,

So if you are talking about the ‘Reader Customization’ feature for either tables or pivot table visuals, that you will have to manually adjust per visual.

Now if you are talking about settings like sorting, that will be done in the ‘more settings’ tab when you go to publish a dashboard. Through here, this will be applied to the dashboard as a whole.

Does that help answer your question?

Yes it does. I was curious if there would be a setting under custom permissions to disable the ‘Reader Customization’ feature for either tables or pivot table visuals if we wanted some readers to have the capability and not others. It looks like the answer to that would be no, thank you for responding. Is there a plan to add a feature like that to custom permissions?

Hi @ineedqshelp ,

I am unaware on any future roadmaps, but I can attach the ‘feature-request’ tag to this post to help increase visibility to the Quick Team.
