It’s been two days since I’m seeing “Quick requires an update to continue to function. Restart to update.” error message on Quick Desktop. I’ve restarted the app multiple times, restarted the laptop, login/out. The error persists. I’m considering uninstall/install as a last resort, but then I don’t know if my preferences, agents, and other settings will be lost if I do so.
Does anyone know how to circumvent this issue?
Hi @julianob,
Nice seeing you back in the Quick Community! This is a bug that has been occurring for many users for some time now. I remember seeing it on the top left for a while myself. Recently it went away for me, but happened randomly and not due to any action on my end. I will make sure to keep this post marked as an error so that the AWS team can address it in the future.
Thank you!
I ended up uninstalling and installing Quick Desktop again, then it worked well. It’s good to know that our preferences and historical data are safe even after reinstalling!
+1 on this repeated issue. App/laptop restart won’t work and quick has been stuck like this since 2 days.
Found this on another thread, this worked for me: ACME > Software Catalog > Quick > Update
