Multiple steps for user interaction and chat during a flow

I’m trying to build a multi-query Flow that takes a set of inputs and generates multiple scenarios think baseline strategy, strategy 1, strategy 2, etc. During development of each scenario or strategy the user would want to interact with the agent to refine the scenario, n number of times. The user would work through scenarios in sequence, e.g. generate initial scenario, revise and refine, finalize initial scenario and then move to the next scenario. Once all scenarios are finalized the agent would compile the final scenarios into one document.

Hi @mphoberg and welcome to the Quick Community!

I think I get what you’re trying to do with Flows, but I’m not totally clear on your specific question. Could you give me a bit more detail on what you may be stuck on? That way I can appropriately help you out.

Hi yes. So we have developed a knowledge base that trains an agent on Portfolio Strategy for real estate scenarios. Given inputs like lease end dates, seat count, head count, and operating costs, the agent creates strategies that seek to accomplish goals across a variety of dimensions - reduce cost, lowest vacancy rate, highest flexibility, lowest number of buildings, etc. In this case we want the agent to create three scenarios - get us to lowest operating cost, get us to lowest vacancy, get us to best fit for occupant requirements. In creating each scenario the Portfolio Strategist would want to interact sequentially with the agent to refine the scenario – e.g. agent creates initial lowest cost scenario, Portfolio Strategist suggests “did you consider X, Y or Z?” Agent refines scenario until Portfolio Strategist is satisfied, then moves to lowest vacancy scenario creation.

Hi @mphoberg ,

So you can have a step in your flows that you can set to interact with a custom agent. Refer to the screenshot below on what step to select.

After that, I would recommend creating your flow to work through each scenario one at a time. You can create a ‘Reasoning Group’ step that can allow you to set how many times you want a certain process to be repeat (3 times for 3 scenarios) therefore you’re not creating triple the steps for everything. Additionally, you can also include a ‘Text’ step that will prompt the user for input which you can then use to edit each scenario. But again, the way flows currently works from my understanding is it is best when you set it to perform one thing at a time rather than trying to have it perform multiple things at a time. Moreover, doing it this way I think will help ensure each scenario’s output will be to your liking as you are individually spending time on each one.

Hope this helps!
