I recently started using Quick Apps more, and was curious what level of tracking is available with them. From what I could find online, you can track some metrics using Cloudtrails. Is it possible to see which users accessed which apps, and for how long?
Hi @ineedqshelp,
AWS CloudTrail records supported Amazon Quick activity, including who made each request, when it was made and the source IP address. Users who sign in through IAM Identity Center appear with full identity details, while users provisioned directly in Amazon Quick show as unknown. CloudTrail currently documents a view event for dashboards (GetDashboard), but not one for apps. Because AWS adds new events over time, we recommend searching your trail for eventSource: quicksight.amazonaws.com to see which events appear when your apps are used.
Administrators can also use the Amazon Quick Usage Metrics dashboard to see active users and feature adoption. Apps are not currently listed as a tracked asset type there.
There is currently no documented feature that measures how long a user spends in an app.
I have submitted this as a feature request so the product team is aware of the need for app-level usage tracking.

Do you know if there are plans to add row level security to apps or AI chats?
Hi @ineedqshelp
Thank you for your question. Amazon does not disclose their current roadmap or timelines on additional features, so I’m unable to confirm whether this is planned. I have submitted your request as a feature request so the product team is aware of it.
