I was checking out the multi-dataset relationship in Topics.
When I create a visual using the topic I got the following error. The columns come from a dimension table and another from the Fact table and I have related them in the Topic.
Per documentation I should be able to create visuas in the analysis based on Topics; so I am not sure what is causing this error.
Hi @Giridhar.Prabhu,
What documentation are you referring to by chance?
To my understanding the multi-dataset relationships you can build within a topic does not necessarily become a new dataset that can be used to build an analysis; but instead can be used towards answering questions with a chat agent. Please review the attached blog post discussing:
The multi-dataset relationships in Topics was a feature released mid Jun this year.
I see this blog post with the information that I can use these topics in Analysis and create visuals from multiple tables which are related in the Topic.
Hi @Giridhar.Prabhu,
Thank you for confirming, yes I’m aware of the new Topics format, and it looks like you were reviewing the same documentation I shared above.
If you notice, there is a line in there that says a Quick Agent can then use those relationships to answer questions:
I do not believe this can be used to build a visual through multiple datasets, that would still require a join of some sort.
@alaresch, would you be able to provide some additional context around the ability to use the new relationships towards building out visuals from fields within multiple datasets?
Hi @Giridhar.Prabhu, thanks for the note; I’ll leave open for a bit longer though, let us know if you receive a valuable response from your ticket!
I’m also interested in why this is not working at the moment!
Hi @Giridhar.Prabhu,
Going to archive this for now due to the long stretch of time. If you receive feedback or an answer regarding this, please feel free to create a new post and link to this one for clarity!
